Whoa! I still have this site?!?!

I must admit, when I started this site and bought the domain for 10 years, I fully intended to post my thoughts regularly here. Alas, life (and maybe a bit of sloth) stood in the way of good blogging. Regardless, I was going though all my domain registrations and realized that I, against my sincere intentions, abandoned this blog. I aim to change that starting today!

Since I am a bit rusty at the whole blogging thing, I though it would be a good starting point to update all of my non-existent readers by updating all of you about my life since starting this blog in 2011. Wow, 5 years ago! Yikes! 5 years ago I was at job that I thought I would be at for the rest of my life. Then, about 3 years ago, changes in the company pushed me out and I changed jobs a few times during the last 3 years. I was having such a hard time finding something I was passionate about. Now, I am proud to say I am back at a job that I love for the last 18 months as of the time of this writing. But, as with all things in life, it comes in waves.

After I left my cushy job I met a lovely woman named Valeri. Val has a son named Shane who, at the time we met was about 8 years old. Now going on 12. Val and I dated a total of 6 months before I realized I wanted to spend my life with her. We got married and about a year into outer marriage we welcomed our daughter into the world. Her name is Charlotte and sheis now 15 months old as of the time of this writing. You may have seen photos and videos of our new little family on Instagram and Facebook. As out family has grown, we have needed to find a bigger living space, which was an adventure all on it’s own.

Being single, I lived in a small studio apartment that had plenty of space for me… just me. Now, “me” has become “us x4.” After some searching any debate, circumstances worked out to where we could get a cozy little house near my old place. It’s not very big, but it’s home. We spent an entire summer fixing it up because the house was left in somewhat dire condition by the previous occupants. But, after a little elbow grease and investing a small fortune into it, we converted this tiny house into a comfortable home for the 4 of us. Life has been good.

So, as you can see, changing careers, getting married, moving, and having a baby sorta sucked up all my time and creative energy these last few years. I’m not making excuses, but then again, I am. I need this creative outlet. Whether or not someone actually reads it, this is good for me. Now that things have settled down in my personal life, it’s time to start focusing a bit on me and what I’m interested in. This blog, some new podcasts, getting content on my YouTube channel, and expanding my social media will certainly help get all my bottled up passion out into the ether.

Looking forward to a new adventure with you!

Sincerely,

Shaun
